What is FSSAI & WHY FSSAI?
FSSAI, or the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, is a regulatory body established by the Indian government to oversee and regulate food safety standards in the country. It is mandatory for all food business operators in India to obtain an FSSAI license before starting their operations. This is to ensure that the food products being sold or manufactured meet the required safety and quality standards. The FSSAI sets guidelines and regulations for food safety, packaging, labeling, and advertising of food products, and has the power to take legal action against those who violate these rules. This is to protect the health and well-being of consumers and to maintain the integrity of the food industry in India.
